Original Venu and new iPhone

I just got a new iPhone 14 Pro.  This is my first time using an iPhone, so there might be a bit of a learning curve here.  Since getting Garmin Connect set up, I have noticed a couple of things.

1. When I get a notification on my watch, I can no longer swipe down to delete it on the watch.  I have to go all the way to the bottom and tap the Clear button.

2. When I come downstairs in the morning, my watch is no longer connected to my phone.  I have to turn on the screen before it will get connected.

On my old Note 20 Ultra, I had neither of these problems.  Bluetooth never dropped on it and it was easy to get rid of notifications.  I don't understand how the phone the watch is connected to would affect being able to swipe down to delete a notification on the watch.

Does anyone have any idea how I might fix these issues?

  • I'm curious what iOS version your phone has. Reason I ask is that I just updated to 16.0.2 and now Garmin Connect doesn't recognize when the phone is rotated to landscape so I can't see any interval details of any activity. I'm wondering if there's something with iOS 16 that wasn't accounted for.

  • I am on 16.01 right now.

I also noticed that the latest connect doesn’t take dynamic island into consideration.
