gmail noticiations appear on iphone but not venu watch

Gmail notifications appear on Iphone but not on watch. I get outlook emails on iphone and watch. Any suggestions ?

Make sure under notifications in iPhone settings “Notification Center” is tapped on and banners are set to Persistant or allways. Notification Center needs to be turned on for the watch to get forwarded the messages.
