Sleep tracking accuracy Venu vs. Venu 2

Hi,
Question for those who have upgraded from the Venu to the Venu 2, is the sleep tracking on the Venu 2 more accurate than it is on the original Venu (which is almost worthless)? I'm thinking of upgrading but wont waste the money if it isn't greatly improved.
Thanks!

  • It does have the Firsbeat analytics in the Venu 2 vs the Venu which is supposed to be more accurate.

  • The Sleep tracking on the Venu is pretty poor, usually overestimating significantly if you linger in bed. Reviews such as on Wareables note some improvement on the Venu 2, but it's still not great, apparently. Garmin just doesn't do Sleep tracking very well, I guess.

Here an excerpt from the Review of the Venu 2 Plus:

"Turning our attention to sleep, and this hasn't always been a strength for Garmin's watches, particularly with reliably capturing sleep duration.

That doesn't seem to change on the Plus as it tended to record around an hour extra of sleep time compared to a Fitbit Charge 5 and Oura Ring.

Digging into the breakdown of sleep stages though, and elements like deep sleep, REM sleep were similar to those recorded by the comparison devices. We also received similar sleep scores too."

I think if you’re just switching the venu 1 for the 2 just for the sleeping accuracy it doesn’t worth the upgrade   I have the venu 1 at first it was all over the place but then it catch’s up with your sleeping patterns. You have to sleep with it at least 24/7 for 7-10 days and it would “accurate “ at least for me it works perfectly. I prefer the UI of the V2 with glances and that you have  the sleeping app ok your wrist thats the only thing really missing on the Venu 1
