Hi,
I recently bought Venu 2S watch. I did several tests of the GPS accuracy while running on the 400m standard track (1st lane).
I measured the distance accuracy after running 2km and here is what I got:
- Another watch - Garmin Forerunner 745 shows consistently very accurate distances within 1-2% of error (e.g. I got 2040m), regardless of what GPS combination I used (I disabled auto loop).
- Of course in the "Track Run" mode I get exact distances which is super cool.
- However for Venu 2S, I get consistent errors of order 10% (all are overestimates)! For example, after a single loop Venu shows distance of 440m :/
it affects the estimates of average speed and other statistics. - I tried different modes of GPS without success.
- I tried to measure traveled distance on straight line. I haven't done this test very carefully, but I've noticed visible difference between these two watches just after
a couple hundred meters.
The questions is, why there is so big difference between these two watches ?
Is it expected behavior or maybe the watch (or just GPS) is somehow broken and I could use these readings as a reason to return this product to the producent ?
Thank you for any suggestions and help.
