Change default activity details

I have what I believe is a default activity called Martial Arts. It is certainly not a custom workout that I put rogether and pushed to the Venu. The problem is that the key metrics for it make no sense, the tile has big blank values for miles, and when I press the B button during the activity, it counts laps. The distance,  speed, and laps are quite ridiculous for this activity. I can't figure out how to cure this ill. Editing activities on the waych only allows me to hide certain data screens, but hiding the screens associated with the not applicable metrics doesn't keep them from being very prominent in Garmin Connect. And in Garmin Connect, there doesn’t seem to be a way to edit the activity until after it is recorded...annoying. Any advice?

  • I have similar questions... have you figured this out yet?

  • I'm guessing you started with a copy of the running or walking profile and changed the name.  That just changes the name, and not the actual Sport used in the fit file.  GC displays things based on the actual sport and not what you named the sport.  You may want to start with something like cardio instead of running/walking

  • Thanks Jim, now that I am more familiar with the interface, I can see that the sport type (as you called it) is "Other". So it was my mistake of not remembering how I created this activity that led to me being frustrated by it including nonsensical metrics. I have been doing exactly what you suggested... using Cardio for my Muay Thai sessions and just renaming it to Muay Thai afterward. It gives me everything I need which isn't much. THX
