Venu: Hydration widget not taking my inputs properly

Many times the widget has lost track of my input. Like I've updated until 1500ml and then I opened it later and found it shows only 1000ml. Anyone having this problem?

  • Hi, you have to have bluetooth on for both the watch and phone for this to work accurately.  Also just input it from the watch.

  • Wow! The watch has bluetooth? And should it be paired as well? And you can input from the watch? What a revelation??? Duh.

  • Please see the "Syncing Hydration Data With Garmin Connect" section of the FAQ below.

Using the Hydration Widget on Your Garmin Watch

An active Bluetooth connection with your watch and the Garmin Connect mobile app is recommended to achieve proper functionality with the Hydration Widget.

Additionally, please verify that you are running the latest version of the Hydration Widget/App.

  • Ok, rude.  Most of the time when people have this issue, (see all the threads regarding this btw), they have turned off bluetooth on either their watch or their phone.  The hydration widget is the only widget that won’t work correctly without bluetooth on.

  • Yes. Bluetooth is always on and connected. Never turned it off otherwise I won't be getting any notifications or activities syncing. And Hydration widget is the latest version. It's on auto update.

  • Thank you for your participation in this forum thread.  So that I may assist you further, please reply with the following:

    1. May we, if necessary, have permission to email you?
    2. May we, if necessary, have permission to view/access your Garmin Connect account?
    3. In what country do you live?
  • I’m having the same issue with my vivoactive 4s. All firmware up to date , no connectivity issues. I contacted Garmin, spent 45 minutes on hold, went through two reps who then asked me to email pictures of my watch and app showing data then deleting. It’s happened three times today without me even changing locations for the WiFi to change. It’s driving me crazy.

  • Hydration updates used to work. Now they do NOT on my Venu !!

I have all the latest s/w.  I have a constant Bluetooth connection and get other alerts etc.  I have a wifi connection too.  I get the alert "Reconnect to phone to refresh data" when I update hydration on the watch.  (f I open the Connect app on the phone then it seems ok, but that's not how it has to work). So there is definitely a bug and I dont know why Garmin is avoiding recognising the failure?

But otherwise can you help, or shall I just take the watch bag to the retailer?

    Many thanks

  • I reached back out since it’s been over two months and got told “as we’ve told you we escalated this.” Good thing it’s not critical because this sure is a slow escalation. I’ve had to send multiple videos showing the lack of sync and still they can’t figure it out

  • Hi,  I have returned my watch to the retailer.  They agreed that Garmin advertise Hydration tracking as a feature and that Garmin have failed to fix the issue.  So they were happy to give me a full refund.
