Not possible to pause an activity and resume it at any time later !?

On the Garmin 'instinct' watch (which I had before) there was the very handy option to pause an activity and resume it at any time later. I used this daily to register my home-work-home bike trip as 1 activity.
After repeated problems with the 'instinct' I switched to the Garmin 'Venu'. But unfortunately I now notice that this watch does not have the 'resume later' option. After stopping, the activity is automatically stopped and saved after 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes you will receive the message to resume or to save. But it is impossible for me to do this every 15 minutes during an 8-hour shift. And that cannot be the intention.
So I would like to kindly ask if it is possible to change this in a next software update. The Garmin instinct can serve as a great example.
This would please me, and certainly a lot of other users too. Thx

  • It's never been available on any of the vivoactive/venu devices and starts becoming available with the forerunners.  It's been requested a number of times for the vivoactive/venu devices though, along with being able to just pause more than 15 minutes.

  • Thanks for your comment. Yes, I have also submitted a request. But judging by all the responses on this topic, I shouldn't expect much from it. Find it incomprehensible of Garmin, that's how you drive customers away.

  • It's more that things are only available on certain categories of devices.  There's running functions that aren't available unless you have a Forerunner or Fenix.  Open Water Swim, only higher end Forerunners and Fenix, etc.
