GPS not working brand new Venu

I have just purchased a brand new Venu

The GPS will just not connect at all and i am very disappointed. i had no issues with my vivoactive. ive tried restarting the phone and the watch. it is just permanently 'waiting for GPS'. how do i solve this?

  • Try syncing the watch with connect app just before going outside, it will update the GPS location thus making it much quicker.  Mine usually connects within seconds, but sometimes, rarely, longer like 15-30 seconds.

  • I came here looking for answers on this. I can stand with a clear view of the sky and my Venu (GPS only mode) is taking several minutes to get a GPS lock. My old Forerunner 220 was MUCH faster than this brand new Venu.

  • To add to comment, you can also make sure that your watch is using either the "GPS+GLONASS" or the "GPS+GALILEO" setting.  See below:

  • Doesn't this make it take even longer because it has to acquire signal from more satellite?

    Additionally, my old Forerunner was so much faster to acquire GPS lock and it did not have GLONASS or GALILEO. Also, I never had to sync my Forerunner to help it find GPS.

    I start every day at the same spot (end of driveway). Why is it taking 5+ minutes to acquire signal? Forerunner would have lock by the time I got to end of driveway 90% of the time.
