Intensity Minutes make no sense

My Venu is registering intensity minutes that make no sense.  And this week takes the cake,

I took a family member for a slow wheelchair walk in the park.  And I mean slow.  0.7 miles over nearly an hour.  When I got done, I got 300 intensity minutes!!today I went for a run using my F645 and at the end had 136 intensity minutes, which made sense.  I synced my F646 and Venu with Garmin Connect, and I got an extra 50 intensity minutes just for syncing.

this has just started to happen.  My 645 gives reasonable minutes.  My Venu gives silly amounts of intensity minutes.

Any idea what’s going on?

  • I would double check first your personal User Settings, age, gender, height and weight.  2) Check Weekly Intensity Minutes under Activity Tracking and see what zones are set for Moderate and vigorous intensity for the device.  I think mine are set for Zone 3 and 4 for moderate and vigorous intensity minutes.  If everything else is right you can change what it registers here. On that screen you can also see if HR Zones are set to “automatic” or “Heart Rate Zones”.  You’ll want the option to turn on HR zones.  3) Then lastly double check the actual HR zones under User Settings to see if they correspond to 50-100 of Max Heart Rate.  You can customize them here if you’re getting too many minutes.
