Repeatedly "Un-Pairs" Device from App

I have grown so frustrated with the Garmin Venu I purchased in June 2020 that I am ready to just chuck it.  This issue has happened repeatedly but today it has worked my last nerve.

This morning the device was paired with my phone and registered steps.  Fast forward about 2 hours - no longer paired and not able to locate the device.  Its been trying to connect for the last 15 minutes and is just spinning in the app.  Any fix takes considerable time and energy on my part.  Restart the device.  Restart my phone,  Restart the connections and repair.  Why is this happening and what is the PERMANENT fix for this?  I shouldn't be having to do this 3-4 times a week.  I am going through the set up over and over - I have grown to absolutely hate this fitness tracker. 

If all I needed was the step tracker, I would have stuck  with the cheapo Walmart one that tracked steps/heartrate/time for $50 and needed no charging instead of shelling out $300 because I wanted the added pulse oximeter to monitor my breathing continuously.  At this rate, though, I am looking to see if there are any other brands out there that have the pulse oximeter.
