GPS used to be good. Now it's garbage

When my wife first got her Venu, the GPS was amazing.  Lately it's been terrible.  It can be 0.2 to 0.3 miles off on a walk that we've done every day for seven years.  When she looks at the map, it shows her all over the place, walking through people's homes, suddenly appearing a half a mile down the road, and other inconsistencies.

I have a Venu that is still on the original firmware.  I'm on SW Version 3.5 and GPS Version 2.5.  I have none of these problems and my watch is very accurate.

Is anyone else having bad GPS issues?  She's getting ready to throw it in the trash and I'm starting to think that the trash is where it belongs.

  • Since I last charged my venu 3 days ago, my last 3 activities the venu has had a brutal problem getting GPS signal, despite being in clear areas, and doing runs in locales I've done before and not had a problem. Tuesday, I had to do a 7 mile run, waited for 5 minutes for the gps to get a signal, and finally couldn't wait any longer so started the run and the Venu finally got a signal 6 miles into the run. i was ripping. Wednesday when I went for a run I had to wait about 3 minutes for venu to finally get a signal as the red line crept oh so slowly across the screen. Today I went to go for a run, it was taking a few minutes to get a signal, and I couldnt wait any longer so started the run and it finally got a signal 2 miles into the run. I'm ready to throw it out unless someone has info on why this is suddenly happening and a fix is coming.
