My Venu keeps disconnecting from my phone

Good afternoon. I recently purchased a Venu Smartwatch & was loving it until it started to lose the blutooth connection with my phone.

I have tried the following:

* Switching both the phone & watch off & on again - This would work for about 5 minutes & then it would disconnect again.

* Deleting my device from both my phone & the Garmin Connect app & reconnecting them again - Again this would work for about 5 minutes & then connection is lost.

* Deleting the Garmin Connect App from my phone & installing it & connecting it etc. - Again worked for about 5 minutes.

As far as I'm aware, I have the latest software on my watch, so I don't THINK it's that...... & it's not because of the distance between my phone & watch. I'm currently sitting @ my work desk with my phone right next to me & my watch on my wrist & there's no connection. I have an android phone that's about 3 years old.....

Is there any advice anyone can give me? It's a pain in the butt to have to constantly switch my phone & watch off & on again for it to sync up. I'm getting a tad frustrated with it.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Zandi.

  • Hi, there is a thread on this under Garmin Connect Mobile Android under Apps & Software here on the forum.  See if anything here helps:

    https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-mobile-andriod/220202/sync-connection-troubleshooting-guide

If not, I’d post under that forum, you will probably get the most responses or help.  Also, I have turned off those annoying blue tooth connection alerts on my watch because I don’t care about them as long as when I go to the app it syncs during the day.  Your can turn them off by going to Settings, Phone, and turn off “connected alerts”.

  • Hi,

I managed to fix this issue on my phone (Huawei Mate 10 Pro). Here is how:

    - on your phone, go to: Settings -> Apps -> App launch

    - find "Connect" app in the list

    - disable automatic management and you will get a pop-up screen for manual management

    - on the manual management pop-up screen, enable "Auto-launch" and "Run in background" while "Secondary launch" is disabled (see picture attached)

Apparently "Secondary launch" function is also able to stop the Connect app and prevent it from re-launch hence you need to re-open the app manually and re-connect.

I've done this about 3 months ago and never had connection issues since then.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers
