Meditation Activity

Is there the possibility of adding "Meditation" as an activity category?

Right now, I'm putting it under Yoga, since most of what i want is there, but it would be nice to put the activity in the "right" category.

Thanks

Len

Hello! A couple other options, there is a "Breathwork" activity profile that could be used instead of the Yoga profile. Secondly, there is a Connect IQ app called "Meditation" that can be downloaded onto the watch. When this is saved the activity's name is "Meditation" and will be classified under the Breathwork activity.

  • I've been using the Yoga App since it has most of the features I need.  Then I change it to Breathwork.  You're right it is much more appropriate.  I've also tried the Meditation App, and it isn't 100% compatible with the VENU.  I can't create another session with longer time.  Once it get to the time setting screen, the VENU touchscreen numbers are not being picked by the app.  SO, back to editing yoga until then.

I appreciate the input, and, for now, I'll be staying with yoga app and a re-edit to Breathworks.  Hopefully the Meditation app will become compatible at some point.

    Thanks

  • Sounds good! If you wanted, you could reach out to the Meditation app developers via Connect IQ and provide them feedback on the issues that were experienced.

  • that would be really great.  I like the app, but I do more than 10 minutes.  I do have a screen protector on it that goes to the edge of hte glass, but I don't see the same issue it.  Maybe make the numbers bigger and expand the "tap" area.  Just guessing.  Thanks again

  • Sure thing! If you click on link below, it will bring you to the Connect IQ page. On the right side there is an option to "Contact Developer" and from there you can leave your comments. If the screen protector does not affect the normal touch screen throughout your watch, I would think that it shouldn't affect the app either.

  • Thanks, I just sent the developer the same info as I described to you.  Now we just  to wait.

  • I contacted the developer and he told me that this is an ongoing issue with the Venu.  When the "time" screen was set up, the tap spot is defined in pixels, and for the lower pixel density screen, it works fine.  When you move to the higher density screen of the Venu, the Tap spot becomes much, much smaller.  And so, you have to hit it in the center dead on.  My fingers, i guess, are to large to hit it correctly.  But I did find an old thin stylus in my desk, and if I take off the Venu, lay it flat and use the stylus, the time numeral accurately enters after a couple of tryies.  I managed to build a 10, 15, 20 , 25 , 30 min series and that should do it fo rme.

I asked about an update, and he is busy on other projects, so it doesn't appear to be in the cards.  Understandable.  But the App is very good and free, and a stylus cost under a dollar. And i got it to do what i wanted.

    Thanks for your help

  • Anytime! Glad to hear that you were still able to get the app to work!
