Is it possible to link the Venu to the Edge series for HR tracking on the Edge?

I'm thinking of buying a cycling tracker from the Edge series. I already have the Venu watch and I'm wondering if the two devices can be linked so they can share data and workouts. For example I'm wondering if the Edge can use the HR (and other metrics) from my Venu watch when tracking a workout on the Edge?

  • An edge can use HR data from your venu, if you enable HR broadcast on the venu, but that's about it.

  • Yes they can be linked. Set your Venu  broadcast ON. Get to the screen with your hear rate is showing (In my case I swipe up from bottom to top) and then  long press on the lower buttton on the watch, tap Settings and tap Broadcast off (which turns it on) and you'll get a message that warns about battery consumption, you tap that that and it starts broadcasting. Your Garmin should pick it up. When I finish a ride I tap the watch screen and it asks to stop broadcasting.  There really should be a shortcut option for this.
