Help Please - Brand New Venu - touchscreen completely unresponsive.

just unboxed brand new venu and the touchscreen is completely unresponsive can't scroll or tap anything . unable to factory reset as this requires use of the touchscreen. Tried connecting to computer and restarting nothing seems to work. Any solutions would be much appreciated. Thinking it may be faulty and will have to send it back.

  • If you're in the states you might be able to open a chat session with Garmin support today, otherwise will need to wait until Monday to call them.

  • Hello! I apologize this has happened. If plugging the device in the computer did not resolve this, unfortunately, I recommend getting the device exchanged. Have you reached out to Garmin Support yet? If not, please let me know so I can help get this resolved. 

  • Have you tried a reboot/reset?

    Hold the upper button for about 20 seconds and the device turns itself off.  Then turn it back on.  This can help with many issues.

    Just unboxed a Garmin Venu today.. the touchscreen has frozen for me too twice already.. the buttons still continue to function and the screen gets updated accordingly but the touch responses dosnt get registered..  restarting the device does help sometimes but the watch becomes impractical if it has to be rebooted multiple times a day...

    Hello,

    I have exactly the same problem.

    Just got mine today, while setting up 1st time it worked "partially", I say this becaus it automatically selected some of the options everytime I tried to scroll, but I thought maybe it was me that was not used to the smartwatch touchscreen.

    However, after setting up and when everything seemed ready for use, I received 2 automatic upgrades, that took forever, +45min. After this i lost total control of the screen. 

    Now, it does not work at all, I even tried connecting to GPS, but that does not work either. 

    Another thing I cannot do is RESET/FORMAT the watch because I cannot get to the option (requires touchscreen).

    Does anyone have a solution? Do I need to exchange it?

  • Same issue here.   Worked fine.  Installed the updates.  Now not responding at all.    I think there may have been a problem with one of the updates?

    exact same problem - out the box new and the touchscreen doesn't work..!
