Venu continuously disconnects/connects to bluetooth

I see this problem is brought up frequently. My Venu does the same using  Redmi Note 9. Tech support does not seem to be aware of this problem as their suggestions are useless. Love my Venu. Hate the SW. Garmin - fix the damn problem!!!

Anyone found a fix yet?

BTW, just to add a detail, not only does the Venu randomly go through repeated disconnect/connect cycles, sometimes just using the phone will send it through this cycle. Yes, it makes it almost unusable.

mine continuously connects/disconnects throughout the day also, the range is quite short. also had to re-pair often when i first got the venu, it seems to pair more reliably now. . not sure if any of this will be helpful, if you are relying on the smartwatch features that need a phone connection this device may not be the best choice imho

I finally found a tech support person who acknowledged that this is a known problem being worked. Turn off then on the phone's BT is the suggested temporary fix.

  • I also have this problem with the Venu and a Galaxy A41.

To try to resolve, I did factory-reset the Venu a few days back (and yay, got to confiure it again of course). This seemed to resolve the issue for a few days. Now today, it's starting to happen again.

Very cumbersome, as I have to keep pairing it and entering the 6-digit-pairing code.

    Not fun! Please fix.

  • So they’ve never fixed it?  I am about to trash my watch I’m so aggravated

    • I stopped wearing mine. Don't buy this POS. I have a nice cheap Times analog watch now.Works great! Garmin - never again
  • Got it for a gift a Christmas from my son.  I hope I can replace it with better brand that looks the same so my son’s family doesn’t notice.

  • Hi All,

I managed to fix this issue on my phone (Huawei Mate 10 Pro). Here is how:

    - on your phone, go to: Settings -> Apps -> App launch

    - find "Connect" app in the list

    - disable automatic management and you will get a pop-up screen for manual management

    - on the manual management pop-up screen, enable "Auto-launch" and "Run in background" while "Secondary launch" is disabled (see picture attached)

Apparently "Secondary launch" function is also able to stop the Connect app and prevent it from re-launch hence you need to re-open the app manually and re-connect.

I've done this about 3 months ago and never had connection issues since then.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers
