[Feature Request] Turn off notifications when not on wrist

Sometimes I take off my watch and set it on a table or nightstand. It quickly becomes annoying to the people around it, that it still vibrates even though I've taken it off. I would like the option to disable notifications when the watch is not being worn.

This was the default behavior of my Samsung watch that I sorely miss.

Thanks

I completely agree that this would be a useful feature! The vibration of the watch on the table is obnoxious and turning off notifications everytime the watch is off is not a useful solution. Using find my watch from the phone app would be enough to find the watch when needed, the notifications on the table are just a nuisance

  • I also agree to this! My watch keeps vibrating like crazy when I take it off, just to go to bath or something else. This is like ridiculous and annoying to other people around. Please do something on the next software update.

  • Bumping this for more visibility. The lack of this feature continues to irritate me (and my family) more and more. With Google and Samsung wearable partnership announced last week it may be time to give those brands another chance.

  • Good Idea. Hope Garmin reading this.

  • Maybe someone from Garmin is reading that but considering that we see replies from anyone from their team, I'd send a similar request in here as it was told many times that it's the way they collect votes for certain features: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/forms/ideas/

Forum is good as a hub to find people who can support implementation of the same feature.

And yes, this idea is a good one.

  • Should probably keep this post going because as far as I can tell it is still not resolved and it is extremely annoying that notifications rattle my bedside table when not being worn. Let's get this option available to those of us who want it shall we please, which is likely most everyone.
