Treadmill mode showing wrong pace and distance

Hi Team,

Whenever the Treadmill is selected, the workout gets an unrealistic pace at the end. It shows pace much faster than the actual workout each time.

For example, in the below workout, the 25 mins of the run, the distance it shows is 7.5km  and the Pace is 3:21 min/km . Which is not the correct data. The workout is done at a much slower pace around and not the distance it is showing.

  • The activity is private, so nobody - except you - can see it.

For getting a more accurate pace reading in treadmill mode two things are essential:

    1. Initial auto-calibration by doing several outdoor runs with GPS on.

    2. Swinging your arms freely as you run. Doing anything unusual with your arms (like holding the rail or looking at the watch frequently) will throw the reading off.

If nothing else works for you, then try getting a cheap footpod. This will make indoor pace reading much more accurate.

  • Hi ,

I have made the activity public, you can have a look at the data.

And I have used the Vivoactive HR model earlier, and have used extensively on Treadmill mode, just by turning on the TM option on the watch, it worked well, the pace and distance were very accurate and realistic. The Venu is nowhere near to the realistic data, In the above activity, the actual distance, which I would have covered is not more than 4km in total, whereas it shows 7.5km, hence a superfast pace is calibrated at the end of the workout.

There seems to be something wrong with the sensor or any setting which needs to be enabled in Venu, Kindly let us know.

I have the same problem with my Venu. It reads a better pace and distance than what the treadmill says. This is rather frustrating as I’m on a 5k training plan and my Venu ends the workout when it thinks I’m done with 5k, while the treadmill says I still have 800m or more to go
