Heart Monitor+HRV app Accuracy with Venu?

I just purchased the Heart Monitor+HRV app and can get HRV data.  It shows about 84, which is considered pretty good for my age.

And this is what prompted my question here:  Has anyone compared the readings from the Heart Monitor+HRV app to something like Elite HRV with a strap?

I am curious about the accuracy of the Heart Monitor+HRV app in combination with the optical HR sensor on the Venu, and how it compares to other methods of measuring HRV.

Last week I purchased and began wearing my Venu. I was curious about the same thing. I have been wearing my Polar HRM chest strap and my Venu when exercising. The numbers have been within 5 every time I have looked at both. I have cycled, ran, used the elliptical, HIIT and used kettle bells.

  • Oh, good. So the Heart Rate Variability values you get from the Heart Monito+HRV app are consistent between the Venu and the Polar strap?  This is good news for the accuracy of the Venu's optical HR sensor.

I wonder if someone has compared the Heart Rate Variability app to the Elite HRV app (which is free) with a strap, just to verify that the Heart Monito+HRV app is providing realistic numbers.

I am asking because my HRV according to  the Heart Monito+HRV app is rather high, especially for my age and I don't want to get too excited if inaccurate :)
