My venu keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth on my phone and needs to be reconnected manually. How do I get it to automatically reconnect?

every time ai leave my phone downstairs and I go upstairs out if Bluetooth range my Venu disconnects from Bluetooth on my phone and needs to be reconnected manually. How do I get it to automatically reconnect?

    I have upgraded the SW to 5.21 --> same behavior.

    looks like the watch loses the BT connection each time I have another notification on my phone. Ex : I have a BT headset --> when I receive a call, the watch kicks me "disconnected" :-(

  • I only have the watch 3 days and it's bugging me.

    Did anyone manage to get this sorted. I'm having the same issue. Using huawei mate20 Pro. 

    Also sleep tracking is so bad. It's. Saying I'm going to bed like 2hrs before I do.

    Feeling let down by this product if I'm honest. Bought it because thought it would have been an upgrade on my Huawei GT2 but it's not 

  • Some of the Bluetooth Problems are not the Watches but the phones.

    Make sure the watch is only paired to 1 phone. This had me chasing my tail for a few days.

    Unpair all Bluetooth devices that you do not use on the phone.

    Some phones Bluetooth can only handle a few active connections .

    Always carry your phone with you. Incoming calls can cause a Bluetooth disconnect but it should reconnect automatically.

    I have 3 Android phones and it only works 100% properly on one of them. So It cannot be the Watch.

  • partually agree with you. the fact i would like to add is : i had before a garmin HR+ (same place, same phone, etc.) and all was fine (i swapped the HR+ with the Venu). the only factor changed since is the watch unfortunately.

    another example is : when i answer to a call, the venu watch disconnects (phone + watch are close). so, i think the issue is more related to the watch and the method used by garmin to connect the Venu with a Phone. why there is no "standard BT connection" with this watch.

    might be a GarminConnect issue too but Garmin should dig on that annoying problem...

    i tried to involve Garmin but looks like they don t care about this issue : crazy to have dozens and dozens of deconnections per day.

  • Managed to get this sorted before I got the replies but yes you were right. 

    To resolve I needed to clear the Bluetooth cache and data on the phone.

    Connection seems to be steady now so let's monitor over the next few days. Hoping the sleep tracking will fix itself with this too as imagine the connection was messing up the time.

  • I have same problem, and my garmin app running in the background. problem

    still exists with the latest garmin firmware version

  • See my solution above. Reset your Bluetooth. 

    Clear data and cache. Seems to have worked for me 

  • Yeaaaa I did all those actions :( I just turned off connection notifications , thats all, cause seems this is garmin app bug, this happened for me after latest update. 

  • Did you clear cache on Bluetooth.

    Android : settings, apps, apps, 3 dots (display system apps). Search Bluetooth.

    Clear data and cache. That's what I done and it's not missed a beat 

  • Hmm im on iphone 7, I dont think that iphone have it "to clean cache" it have forget device and restart again phone. So thats all
