Why does Venu keeps asking to update every few minutes?

It seems to be stuck in some sort of updating cycle. Green update check button on the bottom of the screen and red X button on the top. Middle of the face says "Software updates are available. Est. time 1 min. Install updates now?". A blue triangle appears and then some sort of what looks like a download logo. Eventually the watch gets back to it's regular watch face. Then a few minutes later it asks again to update again, over and over again.

    Hi ALL, I replied to this a while ago with the same issue. I must have sent 20-30 emails to and from garmin about this over the last few months. My files have been sent across 3 or 4 times and I've tried every fix they've sent me....

    The result... NOTHING. Garmin have decided that it's a deep hidden coding problem in the Venu watch that seems to be affecting quite a few users. A few days ago they offered me an exchange but I have refused and demanded a refund. They've agreed and the Venu is finally going back. Been rather disappointed by how long it's taken, with regular 2 week waits for Garmin to reply to me.  I've bought a fenix 6 from another retailer (first class watches) who have much better customer service and given me an extra years guarantee to the garmin one. 

    So, for all those looking I don't think there is any fix currently for this issue and I'd urge you to try and return the device as soon as possible to avoid 4 months of what I've had!

  • Thanks for the update. Yes Garmin confirmed it's an issue with the software installed in some of the Venu's. So those unlucky one's like me have to return it while it's still under the 30 days return period or exchange it. I exchanged it for another Venu because i like the watch and it has no issues. 

    Solution - RETURN/EXCHANGE.  

    Don't even bother trying the other solutions proposed, it won't work.

  • Hi, I downloaded Garmin Express on my computer, plugged the watch in and let it sync, etc. 

    It indicated that the software was the latest. Unplugged and immediately the watch again reverted to the software update screen which I cancelled. and the problem still remains, with daily prompt's to update software. Any other suggestions or did I miss something with Garmin Express?

  • I also have the same problem with constant updates. My SW is 5.60 and GPS is 0.0. When I start an activity is goes to 2.5 for the GPS version. How can I fix it?
