Earbuds, golf on Venu- to buy or not to buy

I'm considering getting a Venu, but I'm hoping to get some feedback from the forum first about a couple of potential deal breakers:

1. Can any runners out there advise from their own experience which earbuds work without dropouts during a run when the watch is on the left wrist?

2. From the forum it sounds like the golf app doesn't actually work - is that true?

And a couple of bonus questions:

 - Is it true that the Always On Display isn't "always on" with watchfaces from Connect IQ?

- Are there any surprises that have led you to regret your purchase?

Thanks

  • hi steve,

about the bonus questions: yes, this is actually the case for some of the garmin developed iq store watchfaces. garmin support claim that they're working on it, but i've been told that this problem was already reported in december. so, no big hopes!

the venu itself is a nice sport-/smartwatch, but the software is heavily bugged, as it seems. i wouldn't buy it a second time, given its more expensive price category

    cheers

  • The golf app works okay. The distances, hazard mapping etc. all work fine. What is inconsistent (i previously had a VA3) is shot tracking and entering score prompt at the end of a hole.
