Venu swim workout

I can't understand why I can create custom workouts (and load them in Venu) for run, bike, strength, cardio, yoga, pilates and not for swimming

I agree, I have the same problem.. I can make a custom workout but I cannot select it on my Garmin venu. Is there a solution to this problem yet? It doesn't make sense that it can detect stroke / breaks / distance but it won't allow you to setup a workout schedule ahead.

    Did you find an answer?

Do I need to buy a new watch? ><

There is no solution unfortunately.. so what I just do now is think of an easy to remember schedule (Usually I switch between *** stroke, freestyle and backstroke in a 6-2-2-4-2-2-4-2-2-4-2-2-6 scheme) and use the pause button when I take a short break. Most of the time my watch is accurate in recognising what I did so I do get an accurate report afterwards. Just can't program it up front..

LMAO you can't actually discuss swimmingstyles because of the filter... Good job Garmin.

  • The Venu can detect strokes, breaks etc. This specific device is not designed to load custom swim workouts.

You can try with third party apps (like myswimpro, swim.com, swim coach) but it's still a mess. If swimming training is important to you, change the watch since this one is overpriced for what you get

Unfortunately? Really? Are you kidding us? The real unfortunate thing that we did, was to buy this watch believing to your advertisement

  • Would you be able to post a link to the advertisement you referenced in a reply? If there is incorrect information regarding the specs of this product, we need to make sure to correct that. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

I really hope you are not a real employee, because if so, I'm not sure what's worse, your answer or the fact that it's 8 months after the original post/question

Why did you change/delete your previous post?

Anyway here are 2 screenshots taken from your site:

    - garmin 1: build your OWN workouts in Garmin Connect and download them to the watch

    - garmin 2: in the Training and Planning section of the specs it says Advanced workouts and Downloadable training plans

    garmin 2

Apologies are zero. Since you talk about creating your own workouts and downloading them to the watch, without any exclusion or specification for swimming, why can't I do it? As you can see your advertisement/communication is (deliberately?) lacking important information and it's really too late when the customer finds it out.

This being the case I want a total refund
