Can’t end my strength activity all of a sudden

My Garmin venu was working so beautifully before today. I use it for running, swimming and strength training. All of a sudden, today when I go to save my strength workout the screen that used to be “swipe up for save activity” has changed to the screen as attached in the photo... only the stop button DOES NOT stop the activity. I’m stuck in this workout and extremely frustrated. If I hold the button, it brings up the settings. Simply pressing it does nothing... and pressing it multiple times also does nothing.

If the strength app is anything like the swim app, you need to press-and-hold the top button for a few seconds to save the activity. I do find it a bit frustrating that there isn't a single process to stop and save all activities.
