How do I get notifications on the watch to drink water?

I see the app when swiping down to log how many glasses of water I drink. But the watch isnt alerting me to drink every so often. From what I read, it should be doing that.

When you are looking at the widget, press the lower right button and you'll see a menu. One of the items is "alerts" and you can turn that on.
