Connecting to Zwift

According to specs it got:
HR BROADCAST (BROADCASTS HR DATA OVER ANT+ TO PAIRED DEVICES)

Maybe that means it's only compatible with ANT+ devices, not bluetooth.

That is the case.  ANT and Bluetooth are far different. The watch transmits ANT, so anything that wants to see the data must also be ANT.

This is from the specs, it has the new bluetooth 4.2. It should be possible I think but the software must be compatible too I think...

When you broadcast HR from a watch, you'll be broadcasting ANT and if you're trying to use a phone or an iPad, that HW might not support ANT.  Some Android devices support ANT, but I don't think Apple devices do.

They are working on it at Garmin, I hope it will come to Venu to. Untill then I'll keep using the chestband

Is there a solution for this now? I am also looking to connect my garmin venu to zwift for cycling. 

It works for me now. If I transmit and let Zwift look for HR it found my heartrate but I see a number and not Venu. Be sure to remove the old band and remove the band from the room so it wont conflict.

I am not sure how Rick is getting his heart rate data. Last I heard HRM only broadcasts over ANT.

The Garmin Venu release notes do not make any mention of this.

Agree.  I use a Wahoo kickr, have a venu and Zwift running on Apple TV.  Zwift picks up the cadence/speed/power from the kickr, but it didn't pick up the Venu broadcasting HR.   What I don't understand is why the Kickr won't pick up HR from the Venu either, since it can pick up both Bluetooth and Ant+.
