Why dont we have Training effect in the Venu?

I really miss this info field from my old forerunner 235. Please Garmin add this info field to the Venu. Many Users will appreciate it. I gave 370 Euro for your product I hope to get the same amount of functions or more than in a cheaper one.

  • Thanks for the reply but perhaps based on customer feedback you could take it back to your product folks for reconsideration?  I already have fully invested in your products Fenix 5X and 6x Pro Solar.  I also have your 1030 cycling computer, Vector 3 pedals, multiple chest heart rate straps and the full Varia lighting system.  You build great products but taking a page from Apple might be something you should consider?  Essentially, the same software experience as long as the hardware supports it. I love my Venu 2 and want to have the choice to use the same features (provided hardware supports it) as the Fenix series I also own.  I use them differently but Training Effect would be something that seems to be an easy win for you.  Just food for thought….

  • Thank you for response , if it's the way you're saying, maybe you can consider adding these features to Venu and Vivoactive 4 and making them visible at least in Garmin Connect if not on the watch itself(which naturally would be ideal)? Those who aren't interested in those features can just ignore them.
Vivoactive and Venu series are quite unique because of touchscreen, and your customers not always want to wear Fenix or Forenner everyday simply because both are way too different in other regards, namely buttons. And since there are no Fenix with touchscreen it would be logical to make it possible for people to view their training effect across all devices which support it. So I can just echo what wrote. If you need my vote, please add it to a feature request, as it would be really nice to have and certainly wouldn't discourage me and probably other people from investing into more devices. I'm sure it would just make your ecosystem better.

  • But it did and please don't pretend it's not because of the price market share.

I have a Venu SQ which is a fantastic watch but lacks of any training metrics. That's why I bought a Fenix 7s a week ago which is a fantastic watch, but TOO HEAVY and TOO THICK, so I'm going to return it tomorrow. It's really a shame, I just would like a watch with all the good things but lightweight and slim. The closest thing for size is the ForeRunner 245 but it lacks of ABC sensor :( Okay, maybe ABC is not needed, but it's software is also trimmed compared to the 745.

I love the Garmin ecosystem, but because of this if the Venu SQ gives up, I'm going to search somewhere else :(

  • So you're saying people wouldn't buy the venu if it had performance stats in the garmin connect menu? You know this makes no sense. There's no logical reason to keep venu users from having these functions except from greed.

  • If it's not a decision aimed at causing frustration (and, ultimately, driving users toward additional and usually more expensive purchases) then what is it aimed at? If you're worried about overwhelming non athletic users with metrics that they don't understand then just hide them behind an "advanced metrics" option that has to be enabled in settings. But don't bar users from accessing metrics which are already being calculated by a watch they've paid hundreds of pounds / dollars for without a good reason.
