venu display unresponsive, not turning on when moving

I have a 5 days old Venu.

It has a looong list of issues, so many that I actually think this device  has  been marketed too soon.

One of the most annoying is that it is very unresponsive and does not runt on when I turn my wrist towards my face. Most of the times I have to use the button (and then hit the back button because it goes to another app).nu

I reset it to standard settings (keeping the data) and it worked for a while, but it is now back to "normal". This, together with the low battery live (a few hours from 40% to 10%) makes the device practically useless as a watch, not to speak about doing some serious training.

I have already send three emails to support, one five days ago, but I haven't got a single answer yet. Which makes me suspect that the helpdesk must be flooded and I bet it's the because of the Venu.

So, before I send the watch back, is  there anything I can do?

Note that the  device is brand new and I suppose that the latest software update is installed.

  • I sometimes have issues with mine not turning on, but when it does turn on, I haven't noticed it taking long.  I have never allowed my watch to update past 3.5 because I know that people have been having issues with the later updates.  When I was trying to get support from Garmin, I went straight to their Facebook page and sent them a message.  It took a bit of time, but they did respond.

The one thing people will ask is, do you have the watch in do not disturb mode?  Because if you do, the watch will never turn on when you turn your wrist.

I think it became worse on sw 4.0. I move back to pre installed watch faces as they are pretty fast in turning on

  • I got the 4.00 update, no issues like you talk about. Battery last 5 days. Activate screen when turning wrist can be a bit slow at times but works.
