I don't think there is a way to do that as I am trying to do the same thing.

A work around would be to use the activity that you want to baseline off of when you do the actual activity, and then just edit it after and change the name to what ever you want.

I figured out another work around.

Create a custom workout and name it what you want to name the activity. Then go to the garmin connect website and edit your profile. On the display preferences page you will see a setting for Activity Name. Set that to Workout Name (when available).

When you want to do the workout you can select the base activity, go to options -> workouts, and do the workout that you created. When you save it it will set the activity name to the workout name.

I did test this and it works.

  • Be careful; "Custom workouts" are not transferable to Venu! ... another Garmin Connect Virus problem

I have several custom workouts that I transferred and used on my Venu.

  • Quelli con "omino" a braccia aperte? ... non funziona per me!

    You're not doing it right.

  • .. it is probable, but with the other "Workouts" (Cardio, Weights etc.) it works! ... with Custom (little man open arms) it doesn't transfer ..
    Can you send a screenshot?

I just realized you can only have so many workouts on the watch. try deleting one and then adding yours again.

  • I only have three personalized weights workouts. I can add more and remove them but I can't transfer the custom workouts. Obviously I did a factory reset.

yeah but you may have more under the other types like cardio, running, etc...

I think it's a set number across all workout types. I created 2 custom workouts and was only able to load 1 one the device until I deleted one from one the device first. It comes with a bunch of workouts already added so try just removing 1 or 2 and then reload your custom one.

You do know you have to select the workout type that you created the custom workout under to be able to see it right?
