Anyone use the continuous pulse ox during sleep? What are your results?

Hey guys,

Curious if anyone uses the continuous pulse ox during sleep? I want to get other people's results.

I have been having some sleeping troubles for a while now, and I have noticed that my Venu shows that my oxygen level regularly drops throughout the night. Generally to as low as 85%. As low as 82% one time. This seems concerning to me, as I am in good physical shape and relatively young (29 y/o). I'm reading online, that normal sleep blood ox should not drop below 88%.

I am concerned that I may have sleep apnea or some other form of sleeping disorder.  Before I get to carried away and start seeing doctors etc, I wanted to see what other people are seeing from their watch, to rule out any inaccuracies etc.

Thanks everyone!

  • How does your Garmin alert you ?  i cannot find any setting for that?

I finally saw pulmonologist after ~5 month wait.  She was concerned about my low SP02 reading and wants me to come in for overnight study as soon as insurance ok's it.  She said the Garmins SPO2 are really accurate from what she has seen.  The home studies are mostly inconclusive but can help convince insurance to pay for in lab overnight studies.

  • Hi! Yes I am using it every night to track my sleep. I am a 19 year old girl, who is rather interested in seeing how these things work (so I figured why not?). Something I found though, was that my spo2 drops to 76% ... I really don't know if I should go to doctor or not, and my mom laughs at me for being concerned. She claims me as an overthinker that WANTS to be sick (????). I have breathing issues during the day due to a stomach illness, and occasional chest breathing difficulties. Something that's weird is that it dropping to 76-80%, is always at 3-4 am.

  • I’m 41 and I use it all the time it’s very good indicator and guidance for your to follow up on your oxygen level in body

    94-100 most of the time

If it drops down to 89 I check my sleeping position

air condition / aeration in the room / air purifier

sometimes because of a heavy meal I ate before going to bed

( for sure I do blood test and 6 month follow up with doctors to make sure general heath is okay )

  • Im in same situation. This is why im shearching online and find your comment.

  • Me it drop to 80... very often at night, i have AS and my chest cramp often this days, so i started breathing exercises last eve. Slept well. But even worst last night.

  • Elevation might have something to do with oxygen levels also.
