Using the cardio program, I get heart rate readings around 50 bpm over what they really are.
Other programs seem to work fine in this respect, although I haven’t tried them all.
Looks like another bug to be fixed!

Likewise. I thought it was fixed with 4.0, but it returned. It reads high.
With version 4.0, there’s no change. I tried this test. I went jogging using the run program. At 120 bpm, I swapped to the cardio program. My heart rate reading immediately started climbing and levelled…
Hi,
I'm playing Squash but unfortunately it does not exist in the Garmin world, and for Squash I found that I liked the Cardio activity :-)
I do agree that the heart rate measure on my Vivo4 is very…
I totally agree with you. My Polar A370 is now 3 years old, but it is still accurate and precise. I was hoping to get a new watch with a pile of features, but in the end, the HR being accurate is the most important thing in a fitness watch, not a pile of features.
This is really interesting about the "cheap" tracker. Recording a heart rate accurately is not that hard!!! I will either stick with my Polar A370 or get a new Polar. I could hardly believe it when I found posts on this Garmin HR being off that were a year old - and it's not fixed yet.
I understand, stick to what works for you! As I am "stuck" with my Venu -happy with a solution using chest strap when I need to monitor HR, otherwise I really enjoy this smartwatch, its vibrant AMOLED display, a variety of watchfaces allowing me to have a snapshot of my vital metrics, HR, steps, active calories, sleep quality with SpO2 monitoring & respiration, even weather forecast (temp, humidity, wind direction), and the daily walk with GPS report. I now learn about my Aerobic HR Zone and keep at it to burn fat, not HIIT to burn glucose, using the watch to monitor is best, and fun, as I've been having loads of fun since getting it March this year!
Sure. just go to Garmin's App store to see the number of downloads for popular paid apps
I looked through these apps, many are frivolous. Ppl have fun with them, but it is the developers who get compensated for their work, not Garmin! I don't think they make millions to have an exotic vacation anyway, and mostly have fun developing it! At best I paid for a couple watchfaces, then settled for a free one!
I agree with you, the fact remains that the turnover is considerable and it is evident that Garmin does not seem interested in improving things at a professional sports level with cheap watches at a high price and useless Garmin Connect system, this only serves to sell a brand and pass it off as such, I repeat, this is just my opinion
