Hi,

Can someone please give me some advice...

I now have the Forerunner 235. I want a new watch with the possiblety to load GPX tracks on the watch (for example from routeyou.com) for hiking.

Is this possible with the Venu?

I know I can upload courses to Garmin Connect. There is an option there "Send to device". Do the Venu support this option?

How does this look like on the watch? Do you see an map?

I wonder where I can find a list of devices that support this option.

And what's the difference between upoading a course with Garmin Basecamp or Garmin Connect courses?

Is it possible to upload a course with Garmin Basecamp on the Venu?

You can get the app dwMap from the IQ store which allows you to create routes and load them to your Garmin. It shows where you are, on the route and next steps. It also shows when you’re off route. …

Hey did you get to the bottom of this? I’ve just received a Venu as a gift and trying to figure it out. TIA

The venu does not have such a functionality. The only solution is a 3rd party IQ app from the app store.

You can get the app dwMap from the IQ store which allows you to create routes and load them to your Garmin. It shows where you are, on the route and next steps. It also shows when you’re off route. You can view the GPS map in real time. Its a great app, I use it a lot. It shows up as an activity selection “dwMap” and you refresh it with whatever route you create on their website. It can hold one route at a time.
