Hi,
although I had a hard day at work with a lot of movement I think this watch counts way too many steps compared to other Garmins before.
I sometimes wear a Fitbit tracker on my hip or wherever, it is way more accurate and a good comparison to wristbased trackers. Garmin devices have always been quite accurate counting REAL steps. F.e. when I have 10000 on my Fitbit it says like 12.000-13.000 on my Garmin. Good.
During a working day I move a lot. I decided to compare it to the Venu yesterday and the Venu was way off, 11000 on Fitbit, 18000 on Venu, where other Garmin devices were like 14.000 maybe. Way off. How can that be? ALL Garmin I had the last years were pretty accurate. Is this a bug? This is almost as bad as the Polar watches which are way off all the time, every watch. And I always wear my fitness watch on my non dominant left arm. The Venu too.
I wrote an email with the problems I experienced, this one is minor compared to my "no vibration bug". Still why are almost all Garmins accurate and this shows way too many steps? I will compare it with a Fitbit on my hips or upper body during the next days and will tell more.
What are your experiences?
