Today and yesterday I noticed that the track is still recorded accordingly on the map, but the distance measured is for example 2,1lkm instead of 4,2km. So only half of the distance is measured. Has anyone else seen this?

I am sorry to hear that. Please review 'How Can I Improve GPS Distance and Accuracy on My Garmin Device?' from this FAQ and see if the distance tracking improves. If the issue remains please contact your local Product Support team for further investigation.
It happened to me once - and only once until now- after upgrade. I was in a non-competitive run, expected 12 km, at arrival my Venu was at 10 something. I continued running to do more, but distance did not change. I stopped and started a new run and it was ok. At home I checked, the track was correct but not the displayed distance (which I measured by uploading the track on a web service made for format conversions - it was right). Even Garmin Connect did not show the right value.
