Distances in swimming records are all messed up

I consistently swim 1km and set up the watch systematically on the accurate length of the pool (either 25m or 50m). However, all my swimming records indicate between 1.2 and 1.9km.

This morning the number of lengths achieved even jumped from 14 to 20 while I did only one length.

Is my VenuSQ messed up and should be fixed? Or is it a recurring issue with Garmin?
