calories count when garmin venu sq is off

Hi,

Everynight I turn off my garmin venu sq watch and get it off my hand.

In the morning the steps count is zero, which is correct, but the callories burned is already few hundreds.

I wonder why calories count doesn't reset to zero at night while watch is off and I am not wearing it?

Can someone help?

Thanks

Inna

  • It does reset to 0 at midnight.  Those are resting/metabolic calories your body burns just by being alive so it’s normal for resting calories to show in the morning.

  • but i am not wearing the watch at night so how does it count my resting calories if it's not on me?

  • The base metabolic calorie count is based on the data you put into the app such as height, gender, age, weight etc.  This is a constant number day to day and I “think” it’s just divided up throughout a 24 hour period.  It’s the active calories that changes based on your activity level, hr etc.
