Training effect & training load on Garmin Venu SQ

When I'm cycling I use my Edge 530 to record all data and keep track of training effect, training load,... In winter times I used to go running with my Polar M600. But since I like Garmin better and I wanted to have my running activities combined with my cycling activities on Garmin Connect, I decided to switch my Polar for a Garmin. I bought the Garmin Venu SQ two weeks ago.

Now I've been out running 4 times already and all activities get sync'd well with Garmin Connect. The only downside is that my running activities get no training effect, no training load,... so since I have not been cycling the past week but only running my GC tells me my fitness level is going down....

How to get this working? PhysioTrue Up is activated on both my devices, I did already as suggested in one of the posts and switched PTU off on my watch, sync'd, switched PTU on thrugh the GC app and sync'd again but this didn't do it....

Any other suggestions?

Any ideas or suggestions highly appreciated...want to get this going....

Thx!

  • Hi, The Venu line doesn’t include training effect and training load.  It’s possible it records it and puts it in the fit file but it doesn’t display it.  I did accidentally figure out it does record a recovery heart rate.  If you stop an activity but don’t tap on save or delete it, after 2 minutes it will display your recover heart rate.  After that you can save it like normal.

  • TRy Runalyze. I have a Venu Sq and I can see my TE in runalyze.
