I cannot acquire GPS anymore - GPS version shows 0.00

I’ve had my SQ for a year now, never have had a problem acquiring GPS until this week.   I’ve tried a hard reset.  I’ve synced with both my phone and plugged into Garmin Express where all available downloads have been applied.   My CPE shows “current” but my GPS version is showing 0.00, this doesn’t seem right….

I’ve tried GPS + GLONASS and GPS + GALILEO when GPS alone wouldn’t work any longer.

  • I contacted support, after resetting the watch, and it still not working, looks like it needs to be replaced.  

  • Mine too... I've restart and reset the device but GPS version still 0.0. I dont have any idea.. Seems like it garmin issue..

  • If you’re in the US or Canada you can contact support.garmin.com and start a “chat” session.  They’re going to replace mine so it must be something wrong with the watch….they had me reset the default settings after removing the Garmin from Connect and then disconnect it from bluetooth. And then re-set it up and connect it to express to download updates.  Then they had me take it outside for 3 minutes and start an activity with GPS.  None of this worked.  Mine stopped working/finding GPS about a week ago, how about you?

    Its been a year since i purchased this smart watch but in NZ.

    Is there a fix on this yet or replacement is only option? 

  • I was told this isn’t a SW issue but an issue with my watch so replacement is the only option for me.  Try removing the watch from Garmin Connect, then remove from bluetooth then reset the watch to default settings (you can leave the data ).  After that re-install watch through Garmin Connect, connect to Garmin Express to get the latest version then take the watch outside for 5 minutes and see if it locates satellites.  If it still doesn’t then you’ll want to contact Garmin in NZ for help/replacement.

  • Did all that and event what support suggested on their ticket, still same. 

  • They should replace it then, they replaced mine.
