Sleep data doesn't sync to Garmin Connect

I bought a Venu SQ for my daughter and for some reason it either isn't tracking her sleep or, when it does, it doesn't show up on the Garmin Connect. It basically won't sync.

She has had it for a week and it has captured sleep data only twice. The second time, it only showed up when I manually plugged it into the computer and used the Garmin Express. Other data such as steps and heart rate are updating in real time.

She says she's wearing the watch and it's on a comfortable tight at night.

i've turned off both phone and watch, reset and turned on and off bluetooth, but nothing seems to work.

Any advice?

    When I first got mine I had a similar issue.  What fixed it for me was shutting down the garmin connect app on my phone, then turning off the watch via a hard shut down (just turning it off didn't do it) and leaving it off for several minutes, then starting the watch back up, along with garmin connect. 

    Did you turn it off by selecting the power button in the controls menu?  Try holding the top button instead.  Hold it past the control menu and assistance screen, about 7-10 seconds for a hard shut down.  

    Maybe that will trick the gremlins into getting bored and leaving.

  • None of that worked. But what did was a complete reset of watch (essentially a factory reset) and starting from scratch. Thanks for the ideas though. It is all working now
