Impressed

Got my Garmin Venu SQ last Monday. I gave it a full charge while setting it up. I'm only putting it onto the charger now. It's lasted 9 days. I'm impressed.

  • Wow, that is impressive.  I routinely get about 6-7 days with PULSE OX turned off and display always on turned off too.

  • Hi, which settings are applied on device to get 9 days? Did you turn off pulse measure? And what about Move iq?

With pulse measure turned and move iq turned on i have a 5-6% battery drainage per hour, a think that is not normal

With pulse measure disabled i have 10-12% battery drainage per day that's much better

I'de like to understand, really pulse measure makes so huge battery drainage

    Thanks

  • My wife is getting 8-10 days between charges.

Pulseox off, always-on display off. Everything else is on, including move iq and the optical heart rate sensor.

She gets lots of smartphone notifications per day, she rarely uses GPS, and does yoga an/or pilates daily (about 1 hour of non-gps timed activity per day on average).

  • thanks, and did she get last software update to 2.7 version?

  • Yes, 2.70.

One notable thing, though: After one of the earlier firmware updates (which came shortly after we bought the watch, so we had little prior experience with batery), the watch started to drain the battery extremely fast. Full charge was gone after less than 48 hours. We were on the verge of returning the watch, but simply rebooting the watch resolved the issue, and since then the watch has remarkable battery life.

  • Thanks, i applied settings as you described. During the day we'll see the results.

  • Settings I use: Pulse ox is off. I use it only manually. Always on display is off. Gestures is on. My watch is set to sleep between 10pm-8am, so gestures don't work during that time. Move is off. Heart rate is on. I went into the watch face & created two there. Analog & digital. No longer using any other watch face. I also have 2 alarms set and get notifications from my phone, calls & texts only.
