Thoughts on Venu sq from owners

Hi all,

Trying to decide between Venu and Venu sq. I've seen a few posts about the differences so aware of that but just wanted to get owners of the sq to chip in on the experience. Specifically.

  • build quality

  • screen quality

  • out door screen visibility

  • suitability for small wrists

Cheers

  • I can’t speak to the original Venu but I do love my Venu SQ.  The build quality seems good.  It has an aluminum bezel (vs stainless steel on the Venu) and fiber reinforced polymer case, a type of plastic.  The Venu has an AMOLED display where the Venu SQ has an LCD display.  The LCD display is very crisp and clear.  I have no problems at all seeing it in daylight.  I do keep my watch on the brightest setting for personal preferences.  The Venu SQ is probably a bit more suitable for smaller wrists then the regular Venu which is larger.  The SQ is a bit smaller at  40.6 x 37.0 x 11.5 mm.  The round Venu measures 43.2 x 43.2 x 12.4 mm.  I have a very small wrist of 5 3/4” and the Venu would probably be too big for me.  The SQ looks good in this regard.

The Venu SQ is quite a bit less expensive at $199 vs $290.  For that price difference you give up the altimeter, the gyroscope, floors climbed, animated workouts and the onboard music though you can pay $249 for the music edition.

  • I totally agree with your point concerning the small wrist. I do have the Venu SQ and it is perfect for my small wrist. My sister owns the Venu and it would be way to big for me. Otherwise, I completely agree with what you wrote about the Venu SQ
