Body Battery

Body battery in not working properly. After the latest update body battery charge number is no more than +15 or +20.

  • Mine isn't rising above 5 and my Venu sq is just new! So this is caused by an update?? What is being done about it by Garmin?

  • I have run into this with my Venu SQ, especially after charging it.  If I power it off manually and then power it back on that usually fixes it for me.

  • On a new Venu SQ you’ll want to give it a couple of weeks to get “used” to your body.  Mine was really low the first week or two after I got mine.  And DO power off briefly every time you charge long press the A button, past the emergency assistance notification until it powers off.  Power it back on by briefly pressing the A button again to turn it back on.

  • Thnx I'll try it this way and get back to you later. However is it true a system update caused this or is it something we'll have to live with....Stress and body battery readings are the most important features for me :-(

  • I don’t think it was an update.  I ordered mine last October so probably got one of the first ones made.  My body battery and stress I feel are very accurate now.  It does take some time like I mentioned for it to establish your base heart rate, and any other factors that go into establishing your body battery, stress etc.  Mine was very low the first week or two and I felt the same way you did and was initially disappointed.

There is a bug I personally have ran into where after charging sometimes my body battery seems to get stuck and not go up or down and I read somewhere that powering it off and back on solved that problem (which it does for me).  So now I routinely take it off the charger, power it off and back on before putting it back on my wrist and have not had this problem since.

  • Hi, at first your method seemed to be the perfect solution but after a few days my stressreadings at night still stayed an almost completely orange mess and even after a good night's sleep my body battery doesn't rise much. So in fact I have to restart the watch using your method every day to get more realistic values and I really don't know what to do about this jumpy pattern now. Just give it a chance for a while to get to know me hasn't proven useful either, that I tried begore joining this forum.

This is my second Garmin watch with problems :-( The previous one kept on losing it's connection to my phone all the time even when close by.

Thanks anyway, your tips are at least part of the solution.

  • Hi again, I took the time to solve this problem and the readings are somewhat better now. However the daily pattern up and down is more suitable but the absolute numbers are still strange. FE after a very good nights sleep it says 80 while I feel 100 and soms days ago it was 100 while I was feel i ng exhausted when I woke up. And in between.  I still have'nt figured out the best moment to restart the watch. I don't do this to often cause it will mess things up :-) I'm wearing it several months now 24/7 and can t seem to find the best way to deal with this :-(

  • Hmm, I was told by support that restarting the watch is fine and doesn’t “reset” the body battery or stress levels back to 0 where they have to re-learn the stress and body battery (like someone had suggested here I think).  My body battery is never at 100 lol, usually the high is around 80 and yet I feel just fine and energized.  I restart mine after each charge cycle.  How does it do monitoring your sleep because I think that is taken into account as well as stress for the body battery reading.
