Vector 3 not showing right pedal power and not calibrating

I've had my Vector 3 pedals for some time now, however they were only briefly used in oct year and then mothballed with the bike until now.  In October the initial set up was very easy and the amount of data coming in was fantastic.  the L/R info coming through was very informative.  Having brought the bike back out this year (stored indoors all winter, the first thing it did was auto update the firmward to version 3.8.  The right pedal shows as paired in the app, however when I try to calibrate the pedals either through the Garmin head unit or through the connect app it fails.  I still get a power output, but only out of the left pedal.  I have tried uninstalling the pedals and reinstalling but nothing seems to work. I have read a number of the forum posts but there is nothing to suggest what to do should the update and reinstall does not fix the problem.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so, how did you fix it?  or are you also now running leftie only?

  • Batteries can go flat during storage. Have you checked voltages/replaced batteries?

  • I've had the Vectors for several years (6 or 7?). Every 10-15 rides, one side drops out and my power readings are exactly half as you would expect. It's not the batteries, but here's what I do -- just take each battery out of the pod and put it back in and recalibrate. I chased this for a long time but never got an answer from Garmin. When they work they're great, but this is annoying. My Powertap wheel sensor lasted over 10 years and never once had a failure.
