Do not update to 3.60 firmware

In case you haven't done the update yet, I recommend to stick with 3.50. I had almost zero issues with Vector so far, after I did the firmware update I see a lot of o "Right pedal missing" or dropouts. Nothing has changed in my setup, batteries are fresh. Now I'm in the process of battery doors replacement (2nd time already) but I think that it has to be fixed on the firmware side. In the release notes they say:

"Improve ANT reception while coasting for short durations (4 minutes or less)"

so I assume it's related, since I see a lot of issues when I pause and restart my activity -- Vector needs couple of minutes to start providing power and cadence data, which is accompanied with some huge power spikes like 2k W.

If I could I would downgrade to 3.50 but I think it's not possible :(
  • It is not possible to go back. Some day I will mark never to upgrade garmin firmware if my product is working.
  • I noticed soon after the 3.60 update that my Vector 3S battery drains dead (with in 12 hours) if I leave the battery in the pedal after riding. I only use ANT+. I tried replacing the battery board and cap. No change. It's almost like the pedal does not go to sleep even when idle. Prior to the update I was getting a few months of battery life.

True that, I only did the update since I was annoyed with the update alert on my Edge 520. Note to self: once it's working do not touch it
  • The same here. After 3.60 update, my Vector 3s started to drain batteries 10x faster. They lasted only 10h of riding. With new, fresh batteries only few hours of riding and pedal had dropouts and started to disconnect very often (every 5-10min of ride). So I tried to connect it to GC, which I did not managed to do even after many tries. I tried everything suggested - turn off and on bluetooth and turn on and off GC and even phone.....So I tried to unpair V3. Bad idea. I cannot pair it with my phone anymore. The red LED wake up indicator should blink once you turn the pedal or crank. It doesn't anymore. Only after many many revolutions it blinks once but does not pair. BATTERIES ARE FRESH, though. So the pedal cannot be paired or connected to phone or Edge1030 anymore. It is dead.
  • I think I found a mid-term solution to this problem: I disabled auto-zeroing for my Vector and I always make sure to calibrate sensors before the ride. With this approach I didn't experience dropouts or spikes in power / cadence read outs. Hope that helps someone too Fingers crossed

  • I bought Vector 3 pedals recently and Garmin Connect keeps telling me that there is a software update available despite running on the newest firmware. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

    A Software Update is Available
