I just wanted to add thatI purchased my Vector 3S last February and had a lot of problems initially. Since the software updates and replacement battery door I am very pleased. Things now work well. I guess it's just a Garmin thing. Be prepared for challenges if you're an early adopter, but ultimately you get a great device.
I was an early adopter and had no issues. I only had issues when I went to put the new doors in and did not use any oil on the batteries. I pulled them back out, added small drops of oil, and have had no more issues since. I am also using some LR44 batteries bulk bought from amazon so I would guess they are Chinese fakes and maybe not within the actual battery specs.
