Right pedal internal battery contact broken

I had a pair of working Vector 3's.

New battery covers, first set of LR44's lasted over 80 hours. No spikes, no drop outs. Wonderful.

I decided to change the batteries before my big four day climbing trip. What a mistake. Day two the pedals failed!

After just over forty minutes, lots of power outages and then dead, followed by power spikes up to 26,652W. That really helped my IF for the day.

On inspection of the right pedal the internal battery contact has broken. Only slightly but enough to cause the outage. So the redesigned battery covers are only part of a solution in my case.

as I cant find any suggested torque of battery door from garmin, each time I change the battery, I have to make a mark on the edge of battery door and the pedal body in order to make sure I won't overtight and destroy this fragile..

This happened to my first set of Vector 3s, I emailed Garmin support who were more than happy to replace.

They gave me 2 options, return to Garmin or to the place of purchase.

As I bought them from edinburghbicycle.com and there was a store local I called and told them to story, they requested me to send the Garmin email to them as proof. So I did and popped through that weekend to swap over the pedals for a new set.

Easy same day exchange :)

My advice is to get in touch with your local Garmin support.

Post 1313879 by t_smit is in reference to the old battery compartment doors. It is possible that nothing has changed since then, but it would be good to get confirmation from Garmin. Torque settings of 2 N-m are not exactly easy to adhere to no matter how you approach tightening the doors. Finger tight, if you have a strong grip.
