Vector 3 product availability EU

Hi,

I was wondering whether there is any new information out there on when new production volumes will hit the EU -> Germany shelves?

Yes I already checked with some shops and everyone said they don't know, they have not received any information from Garmin.

Shawn-Garmin Is there an update on when the back lock will resolve?

I have a competition upcoming in July and I am very close to withdraw my order and just go with favero instead - actually when reading this forum I'm not exactly sure why I haven't already :D Guess because I've made many good experiences with Garmin in the past...

Any update is appreciated.

Tim
  • My expected delivery date from Evans has just been put back from 30/6 to 9/7 ????

And my order has finally been cancelled by Evans as they no longer ship to Australia due to changes in our taxation laws. I've now pre-ordered from one of our local online cycling places (pushys.com.au) and their expected stock date is 4/7. They have a 3s in stock so go figure! I'm hoping the shipment date is correct and the sets they get in have the new doors.
  • their expected stock date is 4/7..

I'd be cautious about investing in Pushys stock date. I don't doubt that they give dates that come from Garmin, but I'm not sure what that date means. How much stock do they get verses how long is their backlog.
I had pre-ordered in September last year. The date changed probably 6 or 8 times and no one would tell me if they were getting stock and I was too far down the list, or Garmin just changed the dates on them. I cancelled the order in Feb after 5 months. I emailed them recently, and they said if I ordered now, I would go back to the bottom of the list, and it may be worth looking at the Assioma's. That makes me feel like the list is long. I like Pushys and I buy a lot of stuff from them and I believe they are doing the best with the information that they get from Garmin. This is just a warning to not invest in that date, unless you have better inside information than me.

Thanks Peter. Given that I have had so many changes of stock dates with Evans up to this point, I was already wearing my skeptical jersey. I have no doubt that the constant date-shifting is majorly influenced by the current issues with the battery cover redesign so lets see how long it take Garmin to ramp up production.
  • Wiggle are currently showing 10+ stock of Vector 3, 6 of Vector 3S and 3 of 3S upgrade. This seems to be brand new stock as I got an email alert yesterday, so I would expect them to have the new battery holders. Wiggle loyalty discounts are being applied so good savings to be had!
  • Thanks boboones . Unfortunately wiggle excludes Garmin for loyalty discounts in Germany, but nevertheless good to see some restocking on the vendor side.

I find it really unfortunate though, that Shawn-Garmin said he would look into things and get back to us and for more than a week now nothing. Even a "sorry we can't tell for sure as of now" would be more professional than nothing. Very sad to see that even in a reputation critical situation like the Vector 3, Garmin doesn't emphasize on prompt and professional customer interaction in order to keep the customers that despite all this mess still express an intention for a purchase.
  • Very weird. When I first checked, UK Wiggle was also excluding Garmin for loyalty discount, but yesterday, it was showing me12% platinum discount for all Vector 3 products, so I ordered the upgrade pedal and saved £48. Today it's back to excluding Garmin products once again! Perhaps it detected me sniffing around and decided to tempt me with the discount until I bought something?! Maybe it's worth checking the site every now and again given my experience. Still 10+ showing for dual, but 3S is out of stock and 2 left of upgrade pedal,

Agree. I realise this is an EU thread, not an AU one, but I've just ordered through Garmin.AU which claim 5 to 8 weeks. I'll be interested to see how you go through Pushys . BTW, ja-gps.com.au could be worth monitoring. When they get stock, it sometimes takes a day or two for them to sell out, so I think their backlog is smaller than Pushys. They next get stock 18-July.

Why would anyone in their right mind buy the Vector 3 at this stage? The product is completely f*cked and there are much better alternatives out there.

I understand what you are saying but from my reading of various sites and forums, the new battery doors and the latest firmware appears to have fixed the issues that early purchasers have reported. Unless you have some information I am missing? I'm really keen to use these as I am heavily in the Garmin ecosystem.
  • everything looks sorted to me. The amount of posts are way down and the only gripes seem to be from people who have yet to get new doors or can't update their firmware.
