I have found it works best with only left pedal paired. If I pair right pedal also I lose half my power reading. I found this out through customer service and had to figure out myself how to get the full power reading back, by unpairing the right pedal. Of course customer service did not know about that.
Lilimanilli There are two different things under consideration and it sounds like maybe this is being mixed up: 1. The connection between the Vector 3 system and the phone. This is done using the "Add Device" dialog on the phone, and it uses the left pedal ID, irrespective of whether it is a single or dual pedal system. 2. The link between the two Vector 3 pedals. This is done using the "Link right pedal" dialog on the phone, which is inside the "sensor details" page after you have established the connection using step 1. The link process requires you to enter the right pedal ID.
When you do not have the two pedals linked, the left pedal will multiply its own power reading by two, and then send that to the head unit or other listening devices. The system will not report balance or any cycling dynamics data.
If you have the pedals linked but for some reason the right pedal data cannot be received, then the left pedal will report only its own data. This will result in a half-power reading and the balance will report as 100% left.
When you have the two pedals linked and they are both operating, the left pedal will sum the power readings from the left and right sensors and send that to the listening devices. You will get power, cadence, balance, and if you have enabled it, cycling dynamics.
If the data you are seeing corresponds to either of the first two cases (and you do have both left and right sensing pedals), then your right pedal is not functioning correctly and that needs to be addressed.
