Pedals not waking up

So I have an issue that happened a couple of times now intermittently when riding outside.
When I take a break and the pedals sleep there are instances where the pedals will not wake up. There was a good 1 minute I believe that I was pedaling with no power until I pedal in reverse while moving that the V3s woke up.

Does the pedal programmed not to wake up if there is substantial torque present?
And when the pedals wake up from sleeping while i am actually moving, the power reported is still based on the initial calibration?

I notice this and when i start a ride as well... I feel like i'm pedaling for over well over a minute before they report power on the head unit.

This is even though they were awake, connected and calibrated before the cycle starts.

    Why are they disconnecting? :/

    Thought I'd post back,

Even though my Garmin Edge 520 and GC phone app were reporting that the batteries had a full charge I decided to replace them with some LR44 Duracell.

Although I've yet to do a long ride so far the pedals are working better than they did. Connecting and reporting power data on the head unit and not dropping out like they were.

Hopefully get out for a ride tomorrow!

Might be worth a try Kelmadics, unless you have already done so.
