V3 Battery drain

Got my Vector 3 in February this year. Third battery set, each set lasting for about 40 hours. Using brand new Varta V13GA LR44 batteries which are supposed to be among the best ones. About one to two days after I swap batteries I already get the "Low battery" message on my Edge 520. Happened every time. Bike is stored in the house (so pretty warm), and it's been about 20C outdoors lately. Disabled cycling dynamics, no bluetooth and only ANT+, firmware 2.30, V3 are not connected to Garmin Connect.

Any thoughts on how to get acceptable battery life ?

I have a solution for you to try, try the cr1/3n. It’s a 3v single cell lithium battery. So in my opinion a better option for what we are using it for. Also a quick question for you why have you not updated the pedals to 3.30.

cr1/3n and LR44 don't have the same height so the cr1/3n doesn't fit (10.8mm height for the cr1/3n vs 5.4mm height for the CR44), and I didn't upgrade because there is no improvement in battery usage according to the firmware change history.

You only use 1 of the CR1/3N as compared to 2x LR44's.

I don't quite get it. How could a CR1/3N at 10.8mm fit in each pedal when there is room for a single CR44 at 5.4mm in each pedal. And yes, sorry, but there is room for only *one* CR44 battery in each pedal with the Vector 3 I got straight from Garmin (no reseller).

I don't know who you spoke to at Garmin, but they were wrong on that. Each side takes two LR44 batteries.

Many thanks. I am probably eligible for the dumbest post on here: I didn't see there was a second CR44 below in the battery retainer which of course explains why I kept on having the low battery messages and had to swap batteries ! :eek:
